Welcome to Outwood Primary School
Outwood Primary School is one of the best kept secrets in Heald Green. Why? We're tucked away on Outwood Road and not a place that you'll necessarily pass every day.
Yet behind those blue gates is a primary school that's buzzing with energy and bursting with enthusiastic children taught by staff who really care about all-round education.

Mission Statement
"At Outwood Primary every child acquires a sound basis for lifelong learning through achievement and enjoyment"
Outwood has around 200 pupils. It's a nurturing environment where children not only have friends among their own classmates but also have buddies from other years, too. Ofsted recently praised us for 'pupils' excellent behaviour and very positive attitudes towards learning'.
The same report said: 'The school's strong emphasis on praise and valuing each individual ensures that they grow in confidence and form good relationships with adults and each other.'
Here at Outwood we not only give a great all-round education but are constantly seeking ways of enriching school life, whether it's through after-school activities, creative teaching methods or links with the community.
We have Healthy Schools status, and with a tasty lunchtime menu as well as a healthy tuckshop, there's plenty of brain-building food available! We've also been given the Green Flag award for our recycling and energy-saving efforts. Working parents may like to know that a breakfast club is available as well as a good range of after-school clubs.
Pupils can become involved in lots of great clubs within school life. They can be a Climate Cop, checking for energy wastage, or part of our Green Gang. There's an Eco Team, a pupil committee and even a business club.
If you'd like to take a further look behind the scenes at our friendly school, just give us a call on 0161 437 1715. You can chat with headteacher Mrs Jenni Maude over the phone, or if you prefer drop her a line at headteacher@outwood.stockport.sch.uk  She will be very happy to answer your questions and give you further information specific to your child's education.
Please look up our news section for details of open days and new developments at Outwood. We look forward to seeing you!
