Year 2 2024 - 2025

Welcome to our Year 2 Class at Outwood,

On this page, you will find some information about our curriculum, staff, newsletters, homework and you will be able to find out some of the exciting things we are doing.  Our Autumn Term  topic title is "Remember, Remember - How have significant events changed the way we live?"

General Reminders

PE
PE will be on a Monday and Wednesday. All children will need: Blue/black shorts, a white t-shirt and pumps or trainers. No jewellary to be worn please (earrings included). In colder weather they will need blue/black jogging bottoms and sweatshirt. The children are asked to come into school wearing their PE kit on these days. 

Water Bottles 
It is very important that your child brings a water bottle into school so that they are kept hydrated throughout the school day. Please ensure that the water bottles are clearly labelled and contain only water. It is important that they take them home everyday to be refilled.

Homework
Homework will be set via homework book and weekly comprehension or mathematics challenges. Further information for parents will be sent out about this. The chilli challenges homework will be set at the beginning of each term and is to be returned via homework book each week. Please aim to complete at least one challenge per week. The children will receive homework that supports their learning and extends their skills. Homework is a vital component so please encourage your child to complete their homework. If there are any issues or questions, please feel free to send me a dojo.
