Gifted and Talented
Gifted and talented pupils are those who achieve, or have the ability to achieve, at a level significantly in advance of the average for their year group.
The school’s gifted and talented policy defines the term ‘gifted and talented’, identifies the procedures used to support gifted and talented pupils and provides coherent support to staff so that they can meet the needs of the pupils.
The policy outlines identification strategies and regulations for monitoring and encouraging a pupil through support, resources and differentiated activities, such as extension activities that are more demanding or enrichment activities that provide new and different ways of working.
The school maintains a register of its gifted and talented pupils and its strategy with regards to individual pupils is closely monitored by the Head teacher and the governing body.
