Stockport Air Raid Shelter - Year 6 Trip

Well what an amazing trip Year 6 had last week at Stockport Air Raid Shelter. All of the children looked amazing in all of their evacuee costumes! They got to experience first hand what it would have been like during WW11 in Stockport and what they would need to do if the bombing warning siren would have gone off in the Stockport Area. They also got to learn what types of skills they would need to use if they were going to be picked by a host family. This included lots of house hold chores and make do and mend tasks. Not only that they got try on gas masks that were used in WW11 and learn about the different items people would use in the household to protect themselves. They asked some really amazing questions while we were there and also were a credit to Outwood Primary School with their outstanding behaviour while we were there.
