We care, we learn, we grow

This week.....

Date: 11th Dec 2020 @ 5:16pm

Hi everyone,

Can you believe that next week is our final school week of 2020 and what a strange year it has been too?! Next week I will share some of our highlights in my monthly newsletter along with lots of other information for you.

Just to remind you, the children will finish school physically on Friday 18th December under the advice of the local authority however we will still be providing remote learning on the 21st and 22nd December as we are not officially due to close until the 22nd December. The teacher's will be in touch with the plans for each individual class next week.

As we rapidly approach the Christmas holidays, we remain vigilant in school to reduce the risk of spreading the Coronavirus and in my newsletter I will outline how you can report any symptoms and test results over the Christmas holidays.

Today the children and adults looked fantastic in their Christmas jumpers and it really brought the festive cheer to school. The children also completed a santa dash or jog despite the rain. Thank you to all those who brought a £1 donation for Save the Children. We will let you know next week how much money was raised.

Finally here is a message from our local councillor Cllr Carole McCann from the Heald Green Ratepayers Association

'You may have heard a 6pm jingle of bells being encouraged on door steps on Christmas Eve (similar to the NHS clap)

Ratepayers of Heald Green have gone a little further and arranged for St Catherines' Church to ring their bell at 5.58 for 2 minutes to start the jingle then the door step jingle will start at 6pm.

Children are encouraged to stand on their drive and jingle their bells to let Santa know Heald Green (and the rest of the UK) are ready for Santa.

If the children colour in a picture of a robin, take it to Roger Dean Estate Agents in the village they will display them all in the window and give them a jingle bell to jingle on Christmas Eve, lets gets Christmassy!!'

Have a lovely weekend,

Best wishes,

Mrs Maude
