Exploring light, creating machines and World Book Day!

Wow! What an amazing week in Y3! 

I am so impressed with their learning that the whole class recieved the Acorn Achiever Award this week! Their curiosity, aspiration and resppect is fantastic.

This week we further explored our science topic on light by delving into the world of shadow puppets! Through drama the children met the own of the shop who built amazing toys at christmas but had found all his stock damaged by fire. Could the Y3's help save the day? 

They also furthered their learning on explanation texts by looking at machines and using a model text to help plan their own work. 

And of course we celebrated World Book Day on Thursday - the costumes were amazing!

We finished off a fabulous week with an afternoon of crafts and activities based on The Lion,The Witch and The Wardrobe' by C.S. Lewis.... the wands for the White Witch are currently drying and will be coming home on Monday :)
